Right now, i have a M/B with support crossfire but not SLI. I have a single 9600gt now. In the near future, i would like to have a more powerful graphic card/s. I could either buy a 8800gt and fit it onto my M/B or buy a new M/B and a 9600gt to SLI with my current one. They cost about the same where i live. which option do you think is better?

Don't waste your money throwing out a perfectly good crossfire motherboard. My suggestion is since you have the money for a 9600gt and a new motherboard I would instead get a 4850 and get another one and crossfire later.

i'd get a 4850 (outperforms the 8800gt and costs about the same)
and it can be in XF for your motherboard, so for $330
it'll outperform your 2x9600gt (@ $250)
and you don't need to buy a new motherboard ($80?)
anyway... easier to just get the 4850 for you're board, or just a 4870 and wait for a price drop for XF

alright, thanks for ur advice. i've always been using nvidia so was reluctant to switch. maybe i can give it a try this time. :)
