8800GTS and Direct X 10 Games

I rounded up some more cash for my build and decided to throw a 8800GTS into the mess instead of a 7900GTX. I'm just wondering if a single 8800GTS will be able to handle a game like Crysis at the highest settings with playable frame rates.

doubtfully.. crysis is scheduled for iirc Q3 or Q4 this year.. so it'll take some time. and i gues better cards are available by the time it is released.

Interesting...Do you think it would even be worth it to get a DX 10 card right now?

Yeah, might as well, you can run Dx9 on one. That will save complication in the future.

If you have the money then r600's will be better than nvidia's current dx10 cards.. by how much is uncertain.

When Crysis comes out it will run fine on 8800GTX, because it will be more optimized. Also, don't forget that vista drivers of 8800 is still in beta and it has a lot of problems.

Well since I don't have enough money if the R600 I guess I will go with the 8800GTS.

they didn't seem to in the benchmark tests only by a little and there more expensive but these drivers where beta so it might
