It is unknown why Nvidia wants to recall the GeForce 8800 GTX boards and not allow manufacturing partners and large retailers and stores to mend the boards themselves according to provided instructions.

I strongly suggest people hold on until the R600's can be reviewed as well. That way they now they get the best DX10 hardware available. The R600 looks pretty darn promising.

lol, I posted that before I read the article. A resistor would be so easy to replace, Kind of a waste to ship them all back. Though, I guess this way they know it's going to be done right which = customer satisfaction.
