950 or 875K

I need some help. I'm ready to build my next system and hand my 9650 off to my Son. I've been waiting for the price drop on the i7 950 at the end of August to order CPU, MB, RAM. Yesterday I was browsing the Egg when I saw that the i7 870 is way cheaper than it was last I looked. I also noticed the unlocked i7 875K at a little over $300. Reading some reviews it appears to be about an even match in both productivity and gaming benchmarks to the 950. While I want the best setup that I can afford, I'm not sure which chip would be the best choice. I may be wrong, but I'm assuming that Intel is officially finished with socket 1366, but, I also doubt that Intel will develop anything significantly faster than the 875 for the 1156 socket, so, it seems, either socket would essentially be a dead end for future upgradability. I think the 950 would probably OC better, but I usually only run a modest overclock, (15 - 20%) anyway, and an 1156 based system would likely perform as well as a 950 system for less money. Anyone have some insight to steer me one way or the other?
 
Don't waste the money on a 950, just get a 930 they can pretty much all overclock to 4.5ghz on decent air cooling if not better.

WIth socket 1366, you'll atleast have triple channel ram and future upgradeability to a 970 or 980x hex core. No hex core processors are planned for 1156.

But the 950 is scheduled to cost about the same as the 930 come August 29th, and I'd rather start my OC from 3.06GHz.

My thoughts exactly. I'll wait a few more weeks for the 1366 system. Thanks for the replies.
