ok my computer is 754 and AGP 8x, running an athlon 64 3400+.
i have 1gb corsair XMS ram 2-2-2-5. i have the latest omega radeon drivers, and im running a radeon 9550 (my 9800pro power connector broke while i was testing a clients computer with my psu). the heatsink doesnt have a fan, however it doesnt feel like it gets hot. i tried reapplying silver 5 just for the heck of it, not helping! tried reinstalling omega drivers. still freezes.

ok now heres my exact problem->
tried it with halo, and unreal tournament 2004. both game freeze maybe 15 minutes into gameplay? im probably going to upgrade to 939 dual core, and pci-e soon anyways, but for right now have any idea? it'd really help me out.
also- windows XP sp2

Well what ARE the temps like? :) I realize the 9550 might not have a thermal diode but it does sound like its overheating (or something else is)

either way i tried underclocking it so temps would be even lower... and the result was the same.
i figure i could reformat but my uncle currently has my system disk

I am having similar issue with ATI 1300... let me know if you get a fix

I am using athlon 4200 x2 dual core
asus A8N-sli mobo
2 gigs kingston ram

I have tried the latest catalyst and omega drivers, no luck :(

i figure it was just overheating. who cares though im getting a 7800gt soon!
never fixed it btw lol... i wish my 9800pro never died on me :(
