9600GT or 8800 GTS

Well I'm on tigerdirect.com and I found a 8800 GTS for 209$ and then I found a 9600 GT for 209$ are they the same quality what is the difference.
 
the 8800gts is wayyyyy better than the 9600gt. the $200 9600gt has 1gb of ram instead of 512mb... big deal, not enough reason to bump the price up $30-60. the 8800gts outperforms the 9600 by a mile
 
now what is your opinion on the 9800 GTX? Is it far better than the 8800 GTS? cause if so thats the one I'm going with cause its only 60$ more.
 
I'm not 100% how true this is, but, Ive heard from people on here that the 9800GTX is just basically an OCed version of the 8800GTS.
 
the 9800gtx is a little bit better than the 8800gts but not by much at all, maybe 5-15 fps in games and it might run a little cooler. i would still go with the 8800gts its an awesome card
 
My opinion: Go with the 8800GTS over the 9600GT guaranteed. Like others have said, the 8800GTS is considerably better.

The 9800GTX isn't worth the price difference over the 8800GTS imo, unless of course the money isn't an issue.
 
Eh the price is a rip-off. But I've seen a 8600GTS costing around the 8800GTS' price.


In performance wise, the 8800GTS without a doubt. The 9600GT cannot even compare to the 8800GTS because it's totally in a different category.
