9800 GTX or 8800 Ultra? no price involve, no power consumption involve

both has its up and down on the specs

9800 GTX has more texture fill rate but pixel fill rate is below the 8800 Ultra. I assume the amount of pixel fill rate determines the picture-quality.... 8800 Ultra has more pixel fill rate than 9800 GTX. Also 8800 Ultra has higher memory bandwidth. oh and 8800 ultra has 384bit while 9800 GTX is only 256bit


which is better? which is the powerfulest between these two cards?

well at low res, i would go for the 9800GTX, as its cheaper, and youll get the same performance

At high res, get a ultra...

I voted for the 9800GTX, however if your playing at high resolutions get a 8800Ultra. I suppose you will be playing at high res though, otherwise you wouldn't want one of these cards.

Which card out of those is best for 1680 x 1050?

I voted 8800 Ultra, if you could afford on back in the days you could afford a 24" or bigger as well.

9800GTX performs almost as good as 8800Ultra, but 9800GTX is cheaper, and consume less power

So, get 9800GTX

It's not that much cheaper, the cheaper 8800GTX over here costs about the average of the 9800GTX. Ofcourse some 9800GTX's are less expensive but some actually are more expensive as well.

I was actually looking into getting a few EVGA 9800 GTXs to run 3 way SLI, mostly because its not 500+ dollars So I voted for it
