9800 GX2 Dismantled

Here's some pictures of the 9800 GX2 dismantled...

These pictures make it look like it only has one core, but it actually has two, also, two PCB's, they're joined together by the funny thing in the last picture :P

OMG, I can't wait to get my hand on one of those babies ^^. I hope the nvidia 9800 can run Crysis in Very high, it looks like a beast.
 
I wonder if nvidia will ever make it dual GPU's on a single PCB, looks like they just glued two 9800's together :P

Hmm, well they did have the 7900 GX2 where it was like a SLI system on one card, but I don't think that went very well, it was too expensive.

Yeah, thats what this is looking like.. what else could that be in the last picture other than a sli bridge type thing.. :confused:

Gigabyte did this a while back with the 6600GT 3D1. The issue they had back then with it and Sli was that if you had one of those cards you couldn't use 2 of them for sli as the cards were essentially already in sli, just on one pcb. This was before sli had allowances for quad sli and the like.
