9800pro 256mb to hot?

Well

If it is as hot as you are describing, it probably has well over 70 Celsius. That is a temp I would not be sattisfied with.

JAN :D

at that temp i would expect to start seeing problems on screen. Any anomalies noticed CloakingHalk

Motherboard moniter says 37 cpu and 25 case. im not sure about problems though. in games it does tend to slow down sometimes but that could be alot of things. My ping is usually 20 when that happens so i cant blame it on the internet. Maybe theres dust in it?

if you have one. If its under warranty then call them up, and tell them to replace it. It should not be that hot so you cant even touch it!

Wait a minute

Should my 9800pro's heatsink be so hot to touch that you cant leave your finger on for more than a second?

How sensitive are your fingers? :P Nah it's pretty common, nothing to worry about.

it will get hot, but it should not be that hot.

Sure it will, the R350/60 is built on a .15 micron manufacturing process which makes it run plenty hot. :)

That's only a guess, however 65-70c during load is normal.

Except he isn't, it's a perfectly normal temperature for the gpu. Besides, visual abnormalities are more a sign of memory overheating.
