a bit odd

i was transferring pics/movies from my camera to my pc, never had a prob with it before. i walked away and came back and it said the upload was finished. i went to the folder where it saves them and it did not have the new files. it had one .avi file that was 0kb and all the others are .mov - i clicked on it and explorer died. i went in to safe mode and opened the folder and every time explorer died. i had to delete the entire folder (not much in there).

i am wondering if this is the result of someone hacking my computer or just a corrupt file? i have had the camera 4 years and never experienced this. what happened to the file? thanks for any help.
 
My first guess, too, would be corrupt file(s). Maybe a bad card on the camera if it's the original one?
 
original card. since this happened earlier, i have just made a few dumb pics/movies and tried to duplicate the error but could not; all the other instances worked like a charm. if i had watched it upload i may have seen it cancel itself since it does everything automatically. the one video was very lengthy though, which may have something to do with it since i'm sure the upload took some time.

that doesn't sound like someone is hacking me? i have no other symptoms of being hacked at all, but still it's so strange i just get paranoid about these things. thank you.
 
ususally when ur computer slows down...likefiles missing slow boot up...and sutff like that
