since ive lost my data sometime back ive been trying to get another copy of vmware for linux.Now before u guys go any further i want u to know that the copy i had wasn't an .rpm or .deb package.it was a tar.gz but it didn't have the make file in it. (i remember that i didn't compile anything)
as far as i can remember it had a "vmware-install.pl" file in it.so when i install i'd go as su then --> ./vmware-install.pl

ive been searching all over the net where i can find a vmware workstation version that has that pl file in it i downloaded 2 copies so far and they dont have it.....THIS IS DUMB but anyone who can help me get this version for linux ,help is greatly appreciated...

vmware will have what you are looking for. Here is the .tar file (Hot Link).

That will contain the files and the installation script.

I find their site strange to navigate too...they want to direct you to their pay wares.
Don't forget to register for a free serial.
