A Cheap, but good quality gaming machine

I'm looking for build/buying a nice gaming computer, but still be able to afford food when I'm done, ha. I'm no genius when it comes to computers, but I do know a bit about them. What should I spend more money on? Should I get a really nice graphics card, or a really nice processor? I was thinking maybe a GeForce7800 and an AMD Athlon 3200+, or should I get the 6800, and an Athlon 3500 or 3800+? I will probably have 512 or 1g ram with either option.

I think that the graphics card will probably have more of an impact on performance than the processor. I'd go with the 7800 and the 3200, because the AMD is still a good processor, and not that much different than a 3500.

well if you don't overclock, you wont be able to get the full performance from the graphics card. The 3200 will limit the 7800 so You might want to think about OCing if you get the 7800(GT or GTX?) and the A64 3200.

a 3000+ wouldn't even bottleneck ur gpu i believe.........so i doubt u have anything to worry about.

Even if you need to downgrade the video card to get 1gb of memory, do it. nobody nowadays builds their computer with less than a gig
