a computer that won't boot :(

I've recently replaced my motherboard and processor (while all other parts remaining the same), and now my computer won't start. It gets to some initial startup screen (something about biostar, my mobo manufacturer) but then nothing happens. It won't boot from disk or cd, and I can't get to the bios.

I would really appreciate any ideas on why this might be happening.

All fans are whirring, including the cpu fan. I'm pretty sure all the remaing parts (vid card, memory) are compatible with the new motherboard.

Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Sorry, lemme give you some specs.

motherboard: Biostar p4tse-d2
cpu: intel celeron (478-pin)
power supply: raidmax 420w
memory: 256mb ddr pc266

Did you plugged the hard drive, CD-ROM and the A: drive correctly? That's always to be sure that you did this step. Alot of people I've met (even Computer professional technician) frogot to do that

Shouldn't I still be able to access the bios w/out all those plugged in?

What happens after the startup screen; does it just go blank? Are there any beeps? Is it a Celeron D (Prescott core) processor? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a better idea of whats going on :)

I think your main problem is you got a celeron (hehe jk). maybe i missed it but what kinda hard drive do you have, if its a Serial ATA you have to have certain drivers because thats what my problem was, this probably wont help you but at least i tried :D

Once the startup screen comes on, it just stays there.

I believe my processor is just an Intel celeron (no 'D'). I have two IDE hdd's (parallel ata) hooked up and a cd-rom.

But like I said before, I feel like I should be able to access the bios even if the hdd's aren't hooked up or set up right.

What is everything that you got connected to the computer? I would see if you can get to at least the bios screen with the bear minimun hooked up to see if one of the devices is interfearing. I believe all you need is cpu,ram and video card. Also try reseting CMOS it cant hurt.
