A couple other basic questions..CD Rom drive

What does it mean when a customizing question asks if I want one of these:

-24X CD-ROM Drive

-8X DVD-ROM Drive w/ Cyberlink PowerDVD™

-24X CD-RW/DVD w/ Sonic Digital Media™ and Cyberlink PowerDVD™

-8X DVD+/-RW w/ Sonic Digital Media™ and Cyberlink PowerDVD™

What's the difference? I'm guessing by the price, the most expensive would be the best, but what does it mean?

sonic digital media is a software for burning cd/dvd. cyberlink powerDVD is a dvd decoder that enables you to watch dvds kind of like interactual. the cd-rom drive will only allow you to read cd media. dvd-rom will only allow you to read dvd and cd media. the cd-rw/dvd will allow you to read cd and dvd and allows you to write cd's so you can burn music on a cd. the dvdrw will allow you to read and write both cds and dvds.
