If your computer is having to shutdown because of the temprature of the CPU then it may be time to introduce water cooling or other cooling methods... eg. Better fans, copper rods.

If you CPU is almost reaching its max temperature then either water cooling or a different cooling method should be introduced.

To overclock something is to push a device (Usually a CPU) past it usual operating speed.

Usualy CPU's are overclocked to enhance performance, but if you were going to overclock a CPU you need to know that it will greatly increase the temperature of you CPU.

Most CPU's can be overclocked via BIOS.
 
The CPU is underpowered for the GPU, so the GPU will not perform to full potential. It will work just fine though.
