A driver question

I inherited girlfriend's old computer; it has XP Home (Service Pack 3).

My old computer apparently died, but I want to keep and use the hardrive (Windows 2000 Pro, Serv Pack 4) on her computer.

I installed the hdd in her computer and booted, worked fine, but it needs several drivers.

I still have her old hardrive, where I presume a copy of all necessary drivers is still located. I plan to install her hdd as a slave drive and let computer search that drive for necessary drivers.

My question is, can I expect those drivers to be written/saved to my system drive (C:) once they are found and installed, as I will want to remove her old hardrive.

Thanks

After installing the 2nd drive as slave, the computer hasn't recognized the drive yet. I only got to spend a little time trouble shooting the problem, more to come tomorrow.

However, in the event that I am not able to get the drive to recognize so I can get the relevant driver files off of it, I will put that slave drive into my external enclosure and access it on another computer.

So, the new question now is, is there (hopefully) one or two folders where all drivers are stored, such that I could download them to a CD. I'm thiniking about copying ALL the driver files to a CD, so I can be sure and have the ones I need. The CD drive (Drive D: in this case) is recognized on the computer, so I could get the drivers into the system that way.

Just to remind everyone reading this, I'm talking about getting the drivers off an XP operating system hard drive, in case XP uses any different type logic in their driver storage.

thanks.

Talked it over with someone I know. The reason it wont wok is because the drivers ned to be in a setup. Other wise, it cant install. Just download the off the internet, and you will be fine. Plus that way you have all the latest drivers for your parts.
