A Favour To Ask

Hey Guys! I have a favour to ask; I would like it if some people could give me ideas for a new PC, like a list of ALL the components that I would use. I have $1200 total to build a new Gaming PC. I already have a monitor and X1900 XT video card. So I have $1200 CND left to spend on the rest of the computer. I want it to be a decent gaming PC but I know that I am limited thanks to my spendings on the video card and monitor. I appreciate all suggestions. Thanks!:)

So...thats 1200 w monitor & GPU, or without?

Well, ok you would need:
1. a case
2. a psu (if not included in case purchase)
3. fans, maybe more than one and high tech ones since you want gaming
4. a motherboard
5. a cpu
6. cables
7. hard drive
8. floppy disk (optional)
9. cd/dvd drive (optional, but recommended)
10. cd/dvd burner (optional, but recommended)
11. a keyboard
12. a mouse
14. a sound card (if it isn't integrated with the motherboard)
15. power cables (if they aren't included in a case purchase)

16. Well, I dont know much about building a gaming machine.. so if anyone wants to add on with all those nice things like the paste, cooling systems, temp management things.. fell free.
 
I recommend picking out parts at newegg because they give good specs on the parts there. However there shipping is expensive as hell. I buy most of my parts from www.zipzoomfly.com. Free shipping, no tax. Great website. Lots of rebates and things too.

Will you be doing anything else other than gaming? Do you have to have it now, or can you wait a month or two?

For 1200$? He could get a hell of a lot better then that. I'm thinking Conroe if he can wait, or AM2 if he can't. See what he says.
