a few books came my way

As you may or maynot know everything I know about computers is from this forum but maybe because of that an old friend just gave me a load of books he was going to throw out. They get you ready to pass a compTIA a+ exam by the looks of it. other than that I have no idea really. If I were to study these what would i gain from it? worth it now as they're all about 5 years old?

CompTIA publishes revised books every few years. You'll learn everything about hardware perfectly fine. It's just the sections on Windows probably won't include Vista and 7.
