i am currently looking for a motherbaord but I need to clear a few things ups first. Any help will be much aprecieated

- doese the motherboard have to have support for a TV Tuner card

- Does the motherboard have to have support for a 32-bit or 64-bit OS (can it have both)

- Doese a motherboard have to have support for different types of graphics cards

Also

- how many PCI-e slots can a motherboard have.
- Do any motherboards have 2 PCIe 2.0 slots
- what is better : a Radeon HD4870 X2 for $680 or 2xHIS Hightech Radeon HD4870 for a total of $800

-TV tuner im clueless about
-the mobo I THINK dosent matter when it comes to 32 or 64, 32 only allows like 3.5 gb of ram and the 64 bit can use up to 16gb, if im not mistaking
-yes the mobo is eather SLI OR Crssfire, sli is nvidia, cross fire is radon.
-I know that a mobo can have up to 4 pci. but is uncommon, i got one that can support 2.
-I have a bio star mobo, cross fire ready, VERY GOOD
-i like the Vision tek hd 4850, which is a beast !
-hope that helped

A PCI slot for the tuner card

- Does the motherboard have to have support for a 32-bit or 64-bit OS (can it have both)

That would depend on drivers, most motherboards support the recent OSs

- Doese a motherboard have to have support for different types of graphics cards

Yes

Also

- how many PCI-e slots can a motherboard have.

Depends on the motherboard...

- Do any motherboards have 2 PCIe 2.0 slots

Yes, most newer boards have 2.0 Slots

Depends, they are both the same, but from different companies, and some might have a different overclock speed etc....

Hopefully my advice helped you a bit,

1. Yes, just put one in a PCI or PCIe X1 slot. Depends on what card you get.

2. Yes modern Motherboards support 64bit CPUs and OSs. Yes it can run either.

3.Yes, you can run a single Nvidia video card with AMD chipset board or Run a single AMD/ATI video card with a Nivida chipset board, or a single AMD/ATI or Nvidia video card on a Intel chipset board, goes for SIS and VIA chipset boards too. You can run Crossfire with 2 AMD/ATI video cards on AMD chipset boards and (some) Intel chipset boards. You can run SLI with 2 Nvidia video cards with a Nvidia chipset board and a new Intel Chipset board coming out if it has the extra chip making it SLI capable.

Also
1. I've saw them with up to 5 or 6 in combination of PCIe X16 - X4 and X1 slots.

2. Yes newer Chipset boards have PCIe 2.0

3. Your decision. Two 4870 in crossfire I think would be faster than a 4870 X2. But you can get both cards cheaper than the prices you gave.
