a few questions about graphics cards

Hey! I'm looking for a nice ati graphics card to crossfire in the future, but I'm not sure what makes a $100 graphics card much different from a $150 dollar one? i just need a little help about what makes a graphics card good, and what to look for when buying one. Thanks for any help!

all depends on what you plan to play, at what res, that stuff, and also nvidia is just as good, but ati is generally better for the price at that point.

will also need to know your current psu or what you plan to get, diablotek sucks, need a new one, will look up the mobo, but Xfire is not a good choice with that cpu, will bottle neck like crap, might do it with one really.

if that is the mobo from the computer, then is useless, only has one x16 so won't work even if the cpu was good enough

I know crossfire wont work now.

I know fine that crossfire wont work yet, I've been planning on getting a new mobo for a while. Right now I just need to know what makes a graphics card good. By the time I crossfire them Ill have a new mobo and processor, so don't worry about that. I just want to know about graphics cards and what makes them better than each other.

Mostly i'm looking to play 1920x1080 res (yes yes im getting a new monitor too, most of this is for future reference) games across 3 monitors. And I prefer amd because of the fact that at this time it is the better price/performance ratio. Thanks :)

Hard to say what makes a good card. A good one to one person could suck to somebody else. Really matters on what you want to spend on a card, and the best one in that price range.

How, exactly, should I determine the best card in that price range? I see what you mean. Generally, i would rather take an AMD card than an Nvidia since i prefer them better. When you buy a card, for example, what makes you want a certain one over the others? (clock speed? memory?)

100 or 150 bucks? Yeah, memory and GPU clock speed/PCB/Cooling/Processor cores (Stream Processing units). But GPU and Processor cores (Stream Processing units) only apply within the same manufacture AMD or Nvidia. Both use Processing cores in a different way.
 
and no gpu for 150 will be maxing at 1920.1080, even on 1 monitor, and sli/xfire doesn't double he power so you'll have to go lower on 2 monitors, a single card for more will do way better than 2 lower end
