A few upgrades

i gave my brother my old computer which was my dell 4700 with a socket 775 p4 3.0ghz prescott core. it had an x800xl a gig of ram and a new psu. but it still has the dell case and the dell mobo which he plans to get rid of. he has about 700 dollars to spend. preferably less. these are the upgrades he went with:

my questions are will everything be compatible? and is it generally easy to put the cpu fan on with the new mobo.
 
ok thanks. my other ? is that 7800gt really that much better than the x800xl because the memory and core speeds really arent that much higher and the x800xl could probably be overclocked to that level, so is it worth the upgrade?
 
The 7800GT has 20 pixel pipelines, and is also SLI supported. And because your buying a mobo with SLI, then wouldn't it be sensible to get the 7800GT? If you were getting a mobo without SLI then get the x800xl. Although, you are correct about the speeds:

Specifications: 7800GT // X800XL

Core Clock: 445Mhz // 400Mhz

Memory Clock: 1070Mhz // 980Mhz

ok i see wat ur saying. the 7800gt is not only faster but is also better for future upgrades. ok and while im here do u know where i could find pictures of that card im getting in a case i wanna see wat it looks like
