A good 4k monitor?

Ive been saving for a while now to finish my pc to run 4k, ive only been using nvidia's DSR technology with both 980's while i saved to buy a decent 4k monitor. The currect one i have is only 1080p when i first built my pc a few years ago, its not of the best quality. And id much prefer a true 4k monitor than my 1080p monitor and downscaling it to 4k. I dont plan to upgrade then untill it breaks.

Id like to know, how much of a difference is there from say downscaled 4k to true 4k? And say will true 4k be better performance than DSR or worse?

Thing is i dont know much about monitor quality etc so i dont want to buy something rubbish, and prefer to ask for help on this one.

A max of 27-28" to fit onto my workspace and around £400-£500 if needed.

I found this which caught my eye:

Thanks for your help!

I do believe my dad has the same one, and it looks beautiful, even makes you look at the windows background with more respect.

Of course, he's a lighting designer, so a lot of light pictures and architecture that look stunning

Thanks ninja!, seems to have some good review's aswell and the price is good too. If no one points me to something else its what i will go for.

Im just a little concerned with what i should buy thats all, I beleive the 980 supports hmdi 2.0 so it should give me 60fps i take it, now to find a hdmi 2.0 monitor, or am i better off getting a different type of cable for instance like display port?

ok i see. just reading up on a lot of stuff before i bought it. making sure i get all the correct cables and monitor to run 60hz. thanks :)

I think im more drawn towards this: http://www.ebuyer.com/639060-asus-pb287q-28-4k-60hz-uhd-hdmi-monitor-pb287q

linus does a good review of it and the adjustable stand will be pretty useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEMvkNSmXSY

it may not look the best but id prefer it to work better than look good.

he also does a review of the same samsung too, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5YXWqhL9ik

i think the monoprice is only available in the US, doesnt seem to be available in the UK for me anyway :/ . Does look very good though. I think that Asus fits the bill for me. But still havent 100% made up my mind yet.

Actually went with the asus after much thinking and looking around, I ordered of ebuyer to come today which it has but i saw it was going to be delivered by yodel. Yodel is the worst delivery service every they messaged me my order was delayed and would come tomorrow which i though ok thats no problem. Only to find out 30 mins later they had delivered my tv to some random person down my street as they notifed me. Didnt even knock on my door i was waiting all day about 10ft from my front door...

Anyway got it today set it up with no problems, screen and tv are in perfect condition. And the difference is just WOW, looks beautiful and well built. Fps seems to be similar if not identicle to DSR, but it certainly does look much much better than DSR at 4k so im really happy with it so far. So far i have noticed maybe the difference on anti aliasing from say 0x to 4x there isnt much difference but there certainly seems to be more jaggies than with dsr and its MSAA, but overall image quality is much improved over DSR.
