Anyone know if Alienware is good unregarding the reviews or the Dell XPS or even any other laptops good for gaming?

Dell do some gr8 gaming laptops, think the XPS`s start from 899 GBP though ! But are gr8 mobile gaming machines... they come with loadz off stuff and look awesome.
EDIT :Think the GPU`s are 256MB NVIDIA® GeForceTM Go 7400 TurboCache onwards to Go 7900 GS or 512MB NVIDIATM GeForceTM Go 7900 GTX Graphics Card
so they will have plenty off kick in them :P

The XPS would be a good choice. Try the XPS M1710 though out of the three XPS notebooks. I don't have any experience with the Dell XPS systems but they look cool and should run great. Also, Dell has just about the best customer support which could come in handy at times. Furthermore, The intel core duo processors are amazing. I recently bought a Macbook Pro and installed Bootcamp and Windows XP Pro and games ran great.

As far as Alienware is concerned, I've only known two people with Alienware laptops and although they look cool and have decent specs, both people had to ship them back to Alienware with fried hard drives and other misc. problems.

You now know 3, i have just bought the Alienware Aurora m9700 :). Most of the peoples with Alienware are usually traced back to overheating, people placing then on their laps etc and so eventually over heating.

Yeah, I know that was the case for at least one of my friends. The other one was a hard drive problem... it just kind of died. Alienware replaced it and sent it back to him (not free of charge) but nonetheless, he was without a laptop for a couple of weeks.

it looks like ive made my choice... btw my friends friend had the same problem too, he told me not to buy alienware hard to believe why regarding the great reviews alienware had, and said something it overheats in 30 minutes or something, built really poor or at least most, and customer support is terrible, so I came here for backed up advice to see if other had the same problem

-Thanks a lot everyone.
