A good heatsink and fan for overclocking i5-2500k?!

Hello everbody,

Im looking to overclock my 2500k soon to no more than 4.5Ghz and ill need an aftermarket cooler, (currently using stock). Even if i never end up overclocking i want cooler temps anyway! :)

Any way ive spotted the Arctic i30 Freezer which seems to be really good! quite, powerful fan, large 8mm heat pipes, which are in direct contact witht the CPU! (4 on each side)!
Heres a link: http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/cpu/472/freezer-i30.html

I also like the corsair A70! same sort of idea but two fans.
Link to that: http://www.corsair.com/cpu-cooling-kits/air-series-air-cooling-cpu-cooler/air-series-a70.html

I dont want to go with water cooling as i have this vision of breaking a pipe and saying goodbye to my computer...... also i just dont want one, so dont offer ;)

Im looking for a heatsink with direct contact heatpipes and preferably no larger than 150mm tall, but it doesnt matter to much! 180mm max as thats my case limit! nothing to expensive as well please!

Thanks for any advice/help! :D

212+ is my vote too. You can always change the fans and add another one like the a70 you chose.

What do you mean you don't like the look? Looks just like the a70.

The 212's are the best price/performance cooler out there pretty much, and unless your case has a window, then what does it matter?

hmmm yeah thats true.... okay ill give the 212's a better look, thanks!

EDIT: Okay ive looked over and over and it appears out of the A70 and i30 Freezer they give the same cooling but the freezer is cheaper, i dont like the cooler master heatsink ;)

If anyone has any first hand advice on the i30 Freezer then thanks!

If not then thanks anyway! :D

EDIT 2: The NZXT HAVIKS also seem good.... and would go with my case!
(incase you havent realised im a bit of a colour scheme freak;))

EDIT 3 (lol): Thanks everyone, its between the NZXT HAVIK 140 or i30 Freezer...? :) <<< Screw that, going with the HAVIK 140, pricey! only downfall is the heat pipes arent direct contact....!

Thanks to everyone for helping, i realise now this was a slightly pointless thread, but oh well!

Further advice is welcome (experiance on the HAVIK etc) as i wont be ordering for a good week or so!

You are getting into the price range of the NH-D14...

I agree with everyone else, get the Hyper 212+ or Hyper 212 Evo (same thing). It looks like the a70 as well.
