A Good HSF For i7 930

Hey guys i'm now looking at getting a nice heat sink for my i7 because the stock intel one just isn't cutting it. Personally i am thinking a coolermaster V8 but have heard from people that they aren't as good on an i7. I am looking to overclock not too much but something a nice heatsink can handle i have plenty of room in my case (Antec 1200). I Already have Arctic Silver 5 to go with the new HSF so any suggestions of Heat Sinks/brands to buy would be much appreciated.

Thanks once again.

+infinity for the H50. that is what I use and I have my i7 920 at 4ghz 38C idle and 55C max load. its really great and extremely quiet. hassel free installation too

corsair h50 all the way. best performance for the money.
i had a cooler master v8 on a i7 setup worked very well but the h50 is much better.

btw i was looking at your system wheres your ssd? why build a system like that and use a standard hard drive just dont make sense.
with the price droped on the intel x25 80gb i see people selling them used you $150.00. do your self a favor and buy one.

Uhh...no it isnt, the h50 is not even as good as a noctua, megahalems, or lapped TRUE.

Can almost guarantee you dont have load temps of 55C, not even a high end watercooling setup will let you max at 55c, let alone a crappy self contained unit like the h50. And if you mean while gaming, try using LinX to load it, LinX is the standard for load temps, not prime95 or gaming. Even at stock speeds non overclocked with ultra kaze fans the H50 won't keep an i7 under 60c load.

My recommendation would be the megahalems or cogage arrow:

I use the Zalman CNPS9900 and I can say that it may not be the best one in the biz, but it certainly has a killer look.

I suggested the Noctua to him the other night but he shot it down and bitched about it being "pink".
I also suggested the Megahelm... All you have to do is convince him that they aren't "gypsys".

lol i was definantly looking at the megahalem maybe just get a couple of blue led antec fans to put on it (the ones that are in the case) and that should go alright.

Case fans don't come with PWM... And I think they are 3pin not 4pin. They'd still work... But won't be as good. Just have a look when you're shopping for what it has.
