A good mainboard?

ECS isn't anything I'd wanna touch with a ten foot pole.

Better pay a few dollars more for other more reliable brands.

Yeah I'd stay away from ECS and PC Chips, you can get many boards for under $80. MSI has a few, Foxconn has a few, ASUS has a couple and Intel has some as well.

PC chips and Biostar are generic brands. ECS is actually a really good brand. I had one of thier hyperthreading boards, that supported dual-channel DDR with the 865PE chipset, and it was the best board you could get for under $100, the only reason that i had to get rid of it and trade for my friend's MSI board is because his board supports Willamette and that one did not. :P

If you can find an Abit BH7 then that would be a VERY good board to get. It supports 400/533 "bus" speed and takes up to 2 (i think) gig of PC2700 ram. It's got 8x AGP and onboard ethernet. It's a very old board (discontinued) and a little hard to find, but it's very stable for almost anything. If you do end up finding one they are around 40-50$ (I think).

most intel boards are ass expensive.....so for under 80 bucks ECS is the sweetest brand...i loved my ECS
Uh you can get a P4P800-E for just over $100 ... so a P4P800 SE should be in the $80 range

ECS is actually a really good brand.
Uhhhhhh

@Bigshow: lets stay on topic

I really don't know......I just took a second to look at your avatar and it is a spitting image of my father......was kind of wandering where you got that picture from, I know it was off topic but I thought it was very strange that picture and him looked so similar :rolleyes:

He looks exactly like me too and I got it from the same place Cromwell got his, Ctrl Alt Del.
