A good motherboard?

I'm not entirely computer challenged but I've recently decided to build my own. I'm not sure what kind of motherboard will process fast or what kind of CPU or RAM would be best mated with it.

I was thinking something along the lines of a 64bit Dual Core Processor. I just don't know where to start with the motherboards. There are so many to chose from I just don't want to get taken for an extra hundred bucks for something that will behave only slightly better than an average brand.

Any suggestions to get my project underway would be greatly appreciated.

If you could e-mail me or reply to this thread that'd be great! [email protected]

Good Motherboards

Well, that all depends on weather you want to go for top of the line, or if you want something that won't break the bank.

If i were you, i'd go with a quad core instead of a dual-core. They really aren't that much more and really do make a difference.

For a processor, Intel does have a bit better benchmarks, but AMD's are much more reasonably priced and you really don't lose any performance that would make a difference. I'd go with either the Phenom 9850 or 9950.

For the board, this is a really nice, cost efficient board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128352

Hope that helps a bit.
