a good Password Protect program

Hi!

Is there a good solid program that allows you to password protect certain folders?

Ive got alot of important sound files on my computer, and theres always people coming and going seeing as how its a recording studio and i just dont trust my hard erned samples to be left alone with anyone.

If you have Windows XP Pro (2000 I think too) you can encrypt your folders.

Right click folder you want to be protected, and click on "Properties". Then make sure the tab at the top of the window that pops up is on "General". Click the "Advanced..." button at the bottom of the screen and on the new window that pops up, look at the bottom where it says "Compress or Encrypt attributes" and click the little box beside "Encrypt contents to secure data" and then click "OK"

This only works on "Pro" versions of Windows.

errm.. tryed it. not only i could access files within folder but i could also delete the entire folder.

The only thing I've ever found in XP Home is an ability to create a zip file and password protect it. As mentioned, XP Pro has file encryption.
Maybe use an encryption program?

I used to use this:

but I prefer using PGP encryption. PGP has PGP Disk, it allows you to create a virtual disk with all your files and folders encrypted within.

it's sortof a PITA because you have to make a volume and it shows up as a virtual drive, but it's probably the best cryptography program out there.
