a good price??

i also agree with the C2D, you will notice big differences with the C2D processor and they have dropped in price recently. even the quad cores have dropped :o.

i was a little pissed off when i saw the price drop on my cpu.

FYI your current motherboard doesn't support the P4 or a C2D. If you already know this and are planning to upgrade or something then go for an X2 Am2 or a C2d LGA775 setup.. there is no reason to spend that much on a single core chip these days

yes i did already know this thanks(i'm inexperienced not **DO NOT SWEAR** stoooopid !! )

and i wish to change from AMD because although intels do run a lot hotter than AMD, they have the ability to cope with heat better and their boards do seems to be rather universal when it comes to finding compatable CPU's unlike AMD. Also intel have come down a lot in price now.

The new Core 2 Duo's can run very cool, I believe Rambo has his idling in the low 20's with a Zalman CNPS9500 with an overclock to 3.03GHz!
