hey guys, i usually dont write in this section but i have a monitor question.
i noticed today that when a picture was being opened on my screen during a heavy installation proccess the pic opened from top to bottom in a horizontal line, so my question is that, is this because of the fact that the electrones are emmited from top to bottom on a CRT monitor, and if yes then this doesn't happen on an LCD right.
Another question: I came across a sentence that said LCD and CRT flat, well howcome it is flat and CRT, how flat is it?
thanks.

a) I do not think that it has to do with the electrons being emitted from top to bottom as you say or anything. In fact it is beacause the CPU is overwhelemed and the picture loads by sections (from top to bottom as data is being read). You see a simmilar thing when for example you view a wallpaper online and the internet connection is slow. Hence the pic will load piece by piece in a horizontal manner. And YES it does happen od LCDs as well.

b) LCD monitors are 100% flat. CRT monitors (the new generation) are virtually entirely flat as well. So both are FLAT in my view.

help

I think it is part of a marketing thing also....kind of like keywords on the internet, gets peoples attention so they both use flat as a failsafe
