A little confused of installation.

Hello,
I recently purchased Vista Ulimate 64 Bit Full Version. But have not yet been able to install it due to being unsure what exactly to do. I have read various sources, doing a little research. But some seem to be incorrect, and others just not helpful.

Anwway, i'll get straight to the point.
System Specs
Current Os: Window Xp Professional (32 bit)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor +3500 (2.2 Ghz)
Ram: 1 GB
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9550
Direct X: 9.0 C
Hard drive: 80GB (20GB Free)
Motherboard: 939 Dual-SATA2
BIOS: System Default

So heres the questions:
To what extinct do i remove programs. Do i uninstall as much as possile?
Drivers? (do i install X64 drivers after installation or before?), Microsoft Products? Xp? I installed 'Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor' That told me to completly uninstall one thing, and to look at several others after installation. So do i not uninstall anything else? (I prosume i do not uninstall Xp because, then i can right click traget and run the program in a different mode in Vista)

Do i then install it via boot (F11 For me), would i need to change any BIOS Settings for this? Or update the BIOS?

I think really this is all i want to know, jsut unsure about those.

Thanks for the help :D

I'd say you need to do clean install, which means booting from the CD/DVD.
For that you may need to change settings in BIOS to boot from CD first.
That's what i would do, although i never used 64bit OS so i'm not 100% sure.
Wait for another opinion here. :)

well i tried to boot from dvd at start up, and CD/DVD Drive is frist boot. But it does not work, all it says is boot from cd/dvd press any key, then loads up XP. I cannot do it whilest logged in becuase, that is not 64 bit xp, so it won't allow me to do that. Is there any seetings i need to change in BIOS?
Also during instalation do i install drivers? or once it is installed?
