I just recieved a computer someone wants me to fix, and I cant figure out whats wrong with the thing.

I selected for it to boot from "CDROM,A,C" in BIOS, but when it trys booting from windows cd, it says theres "No Bootable Media" I cant boot into windows in safe mode or regular. In safemode explorer.exe has an illegal operation. In regular i get a couple blue screen errors and nothing happens.

Are you sure the windows cd you booting from FULL not Upgrade. You can not boot from a upgrade version of windows. If it is full and it still wont boot from cd drive then try making A:/ boot disks for it and boot it from the A:\ drive.

I have no A bootup discs, and its the windows 2000 professional im putting in. Trying to reformat his windows 98. Just for kicks, i tried 98 also and it didnt work.

If you have anouther computer. There should be a folder in the windows 2000 disk called bootdisk. in that folder there will be a file that allows you to make A:\ boot disk for it. do that then boot from the A:\ disk. You will need like 6 blank A:\ disks in order to do this.
