I think he is saying that he hasn't keep up with the advancements of PC hardware in the past 5 months, and he want's us to get him up to date on new hardware.

Me too. I got it dirt cheap - and the subscription goes in the trash almost the day it comes. If you like GQ magazine - you'll like Wired. It's all ads.
I'm not sure what the OP was asking either. It looked as if he / she was looking to get started in the " HARDWARE BUSINESS " and is asking to get familiar with hardware. If that's the case - I'm not sure how any of us could be of help. If the OP is not up to snuff on a business he is entering - it's not going to work out very well.
Your links are great resources though - if the OP wants to bone up on what's out there for himself / herself.

Well I like it. They have some really good reads in there. Nobody like ads, but that's how they pay the bills, so it doesn't bother me much. I like PC Magazine and PC World, too. And when you're done w/ your mags, don't throw them away - donate them! Waiting rooms everywhere and local schools and jails will always take magazines - great to make collages out of if nothing else.

Well anything that changed from January till now? I've heard about Intels and AMDs 6-cored CPUs, about new GTX470, GTX480 but are they better than those new ATi cards? Has amd produced new ATi cards recently? How are mothertboards for LGA755, 1156 and 1366? AM2, AM3, AM3+? How are PSU rankings these days?

Weather or not the GTX 4xx cards are "better" has been a matter of debate, but IMO the ATI 5xxx cards are still a much better deal, and they use a LOT less power.
The Intel/AMD 6-cores aren't being widely adopted yet, but they do seem rather powerful. The AMD hexacore is priced to compete with the i7 920/930, while the i7 980X is at the top of Intel's range at $1000-$1100. Both of them kick arse.
There's also the 32nm xeon models, which could be pretty awesome if people start incorporating them into mainstream rigs, though I doubt they'll make too much of an impact. Personally, I'm interested in the L5640, which is a 60W hexacore model for socket 1156. (omgwtfbbq)

I don't believe that the PSU market has changed too much, and AFAIK the only really big change in motherboards is AMD launching the 890GX chipset. 890FX should launch soon.
