A Network Harddrive

Is there a harddrive that I could plug into my router so that both my Windows 7 PC and Macbook Pro could see? So I can grab multimedia files from the network drive?

Network drives use network protocols to file share. SMB is supported on both OS X and Windows. You will have to turn on Windows file sharing on your Mac. Be mindful that different file systems don't always deal with files/folders in the same manner. Some characters that are illegal in Windows may be legal in OS X and vice versa. Also, file permissions and ACLs also do not always transfer, but I doubt you will use ACLs.

I have no idea what any of that means... hahahaha :-(

This is mainly going to be used for accessing MP3s, Movies, and videos remotely from the Mac so I can burn CDs, watch movies, listen to music, and stuff like that.

It's going to be used for music, videos, movies, backup of WoW, documents, etc...

Nothing special about this home network. But it will be on the same network as my PS3, phones, X Box, PC, and Mac. Although none of them will be accessing this drive.

This should work perfectly, no?
