A noob asking a question on PSUs

Hi, this may sound stupid but can you use any power supply unit for any computer ?

My psu died on one of my comps and i have another pc that works. Could i just switch the power supply to get the broken one to work or do they have to be specific PSUs?

Few issues that come to my mind.
1. Age difference between the two PSUs
2. Wattage differences (check to see if the one you want to put in has the same or more wattage)
3. Size (Normally, the power supplies are standard ATX units, but Dell and some other companies make custom ones, so they could be any size/shape.)
4. Connectors (Again, the PSUs are sometimes custom, so the PSU may only have enough cables for a certain type of computer)

there 20 pin and 24 pin psu. i know nothing about your computer or psu. is it big enough for your video card ?????????

As long as it has all the correct power connections you need with the sufficent wattage required and fits in
all should be fine
