A problem with booting

Hey so about two days ago i started having issues with my computer starting up. I will shut it down like normal, go to windows menu and click shut down just like normal. And it will shut down just like normal. But when i turn it back on everyday it has gone to a blue screen saying something about dumping information and then an error message will show up saying windows could not start and it was doing a repair. I will wait about 5 minutes and it will say its fixed and restart and i can log in.

So i can still get on there's just a 5 minute delay and im afraid it might escalate from what it already is. Anyways i was just wondering if anyone had any idea why its doing this i havnt downloaded anything lately or shutdown by holding down the power button or anything like that.

I have an Acer Aspire 6530 with vista 64 bit and ive already ran a scan using Hijackthis and didn't find anything. Does anyone know whats wrong or how to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help :D

Heres a link to my laptop http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115546

I don't have Vista so am not sure where exactly the "Event Viewer" will be, under XP it is in the "Administrative Tools".

The Event Viewer will give you the log of every shutdown/startup problem that has occurred. Worth a look in their to narrow it down.

Look under "Windows Logs" and in each sub section. Look for errors or warnings that may show when booting or shutting down.

Just a hunch, but did you install anything prior to this happening? it could be something buggy, like a corrupted file trying to start everytime you turn on the computer.

well i searched all the files and didn't find any errors concerning booting up but i have restarted a few times since i posted the topic and the error messages havn't shown. So im not sure why it was doing it before but its seemed to stop for now at least
