Ok, so its 2 AM ...bored and i read this thread

Okay, so I was debating whether or not to post in this forum or the games one, but it is concerning processors.

I'm getting a quad core computer, and I know that most games don't support quad core. I want to know, however, what games DO support it. If anyone has a link to a list of quad core supported games, that'd be great. Or at least a few suggestions. ^_^

Thanks in advance."

Is that true, that a QUAD CORE CPU, wont let u play some games ?!?!

answers please. and if so WHY ?!?!?

Thanks !! "D

its not that games can't be played on a quad core, its that games don't take advantage of having quad cores.

At the moment there are a few games that will use both cores in a dual core system, in a quad core system they would only use two of the cores. Most games will still only use a single core of the system.

This is why currently its probably just as good to buy a dual core processor as a quad core if your building a gaming rig. In the future games will be created to use more of the cores in the systems, I believe Alan Wake is one such game thats being touted as using up to 4 cores

but if you know what your doing with overclocking wouldnt it be a better idea to get a quad core and clock it to 3ghz+,so even if games are only using 1 to 2 cores atleast you have a good core ghz for the games to utalize?

then you also have the future proofing of the extra cores?

hmmm interesting , i understand what u mean, in lames term for myself and others they dont use the other 2 cores of the QUAD bc they dont need it.
