I'm trying to streamline my friend's computer. it's a sony viao, 256MB ram, P4 XP home. The factory hard drive is partitioned into 2, C & D, C being 14.9 gig with 1.05 free gigs, and D being 59.5 gigs (all free), I threw a 6G HD in I had lying around, which I formatted.

I can't defrag C (8% is what I have and 15% is what it requires).
I don't want to reformat & repartition... he's got art and stuff on here I cannot delete.

What should I relocate, and how should I go about it to keep it organized and quick?

I've deleted what few unnecessary programs I could.

If you have a spare drive, I'd get a copy of some kind of imaging software (such as Ghost) and make an image of the drive. Then I'd format the drive and make it one big partition. Reload the image and enjoy all the space ;)

I'm also thinking of just putting Ubuntu on the 6 gig, because in the end I need to get a creative sound blaster audigy 2 on this thing which I got at a yard sale with no software...
something tells me getting the drivers for ubuntu will be easier than XP

imaging has been around since 1995, and I've only recently experienced the concept. and I'm not a complete noob
