ATTENTION:

ECS A780M-A 1.1 bent 7 of my CPU processors pins. I am building 2 identical boards. One works the other doesn't. After troubleshooting I noticed 7 pins bent on one cpu. I tried to put in the good cpu on the bad motherboard and it wouldnt drop in place. Now ECS is saying its not their fault and I might not get a refund on my CPU chip. Does anybody know how 7 pins on a AM+2 chip can get bent? Anybody else having problems with these boards or have any ideas?

It could be:

1. my fault
2. bad motherboard
3. pins were out of alignment to begin with.

probably out of alignment to begin with

usually a processor that isnt inside a motherboard gets bent pins usually. or maybe it was put in up (tried) upsidedown

These 7 pins were all over the board and then when i tried to make the good cpu fit in the slot it didnt seem like it wanted to fit right. It doesnt make sense to me if the O pin isn't aligned right how do 7 random pins all over the board not line up?

You never push a AMD desktop CPU in. If it doesnt just drop in place you either have it turned the wrong way or the pins might be out of line. If you had to push the CPU in then one of the above happen and its not the boards fault. You sure the lever was pushed all the way back? There is a chance the CPU socket is screwed up, but in all the boards I,ve installed I have never had a screwed up CPU socket.

if its on the cpu that the pins are bent(i think you're talking about the cpu anyway) get a razor blade, and try to straighten them that way
