i am from india i have bought i have bought fx 8350 processor and m5a97 r2.0 motherboard. i want to buy very good graphic card between rs 10000 to 15000 or under rs 10000, i am having 23 inches single samsung led 1080p monitor. i am getting confused because whether to buy 1 gb graphic card or 2 gb graphic card. i want to play all games only at 1920 *1080 p settings and future latest games also. is 2gb graphic card is faster than 1gb graphic cards. i like gtx 760 very much but very costlier in india (RS 18200). i want to know whether 1gb graphic equal to 2 gb gtx 760 graphic card .which is top class for 1 gb graphic card or shall i buy 2 gb graphic cards.any best 1gb card which plays 1920*1080p latest games wth out lagging in future also.

Hi!

A card with 2 gb are preferable. Simply the old saying "The more, the better". :) And if you can get a card that have 2 gigabyte of ram + a 256 megabit memory bus Or at least 192? That's really good. As a 125 megabit memory bus will decrease the video RAM performance some compaired to a larger memory bus.

Any card up to a GTX 770 or a Radeon R9 280X will not get bottlenecked by that processor.

Then you will have to find out if your powersupply can feed the card you are getting? Ie. the minimum powersupply requirement?

If you can get your hands on a cheap Radeon HD 7850 2 gb? And that you have got a 500W powersupply at least? Then get that.
But stay away from cards that have the tiny Nvidia or Radeon reference cooler and fan. That will drive you mad with it's high pitched, whining noise when the card are at load. And it also will cool the card in a less good way. Get a card with as big fan / fans as possible. Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, XFX and Sapphire for example, are card manufacturers that makes both Nvidia and Radeon cards with good coolers that is silent too thanks to a larger fan or fans.

Also, check out the video card length at the manufacturers home site or in the shop so it will fit your case before buying.

There is so much wrong with this...

Going by this logic, a GTX 760 4GB video card is better than a GTX 780 3GB video card.

Memory size is important, but it's not the end all be all of video card performance. High end cards are also using 256-384 bit or higher memory as well (and it's not "megabit", that is used when talking about capacity).

I would recommend getting an amd card, because of price like an r7 260x, or 270x, get the 2GB versions, and yuou will be able to play most games.

Anymore 2GB is recommended but going past that for a single 1080p monitor isn't necessary yet. It has way more to do with the speed and efficiency of the core clock and the VRAM.

Yes, I'm aware about this. But as this guy seems to be on a budget, I reasoned that 2 gb of video ram card would at least not cost as much as a 3 or 4 gb card. And still would be able to perform well.

You're missing the point, it's not the amount of memory that determines the performance or value of a video card.

memory doesnt really determine the performance of a card its pretty much like RAM if you have 8gb or 16gb you wouldnt notice any difference going between the two but you would however come into problems if you did massive editing and needed the 16gb. its the same with GPU's having 2gb or 4gb wont make any difference untill it needs to go over the 2gb which even in battlefield 4 on ultra maxed 1080p it wont go above 2gb usage.

the performance generally for a gpu is really newest archetecture the amount of cuda cores and RAM speed and type ie DDR5 is better than DDR3. such as a gtx 780 has 2304 cores and the gtx 780ti has 2880 cores. so thats why the 780ti outperforms the gtx 780 regardless of it having 4gb or 3gb memory.

so really there is no need to get a 4gb version otherthan if your going to need it. To be honest i would wait for the nvidia gtx 980's to come out and see what type of price they are fetching and if you can afford it go for one. they will last a good few years and play any game on any settings for atleast the next few years i would have thought. depending on how the 780ti's come down i would consider one of those.

No, not the RAM only that I agree too. It's the same as a computer as such. You need a good cpu....Or in this case a gpu too. But this guy, seemed to be mostly interested in the differece betwen 1 or 2 gb of RAM on a card. And that whas what I whas trying to tell him....Even if I wandered off the topic some in the end. :)

I might have exspressed myself in a less good way. And that could depend on that english is not my native language. And I appologize for this then.
