The board i bought was listed as a 945GTP/PLM. the GTP doesnt support core 2 duo's and the PLM does, be it only 65nm chips. i have no other setup to test the board, i am building one though. Should i play it safe and go for a Pentium D or risk it for the Core 2 Duo? I really want a C2D. Pentium D's got bad reviews because no games/apps supported dualcores at the time, but they are still based on netburst... :(

As far as I know NO 945 series chipset apart from the 945GC will support the Core architecture at all, if you go with that board and try to power it up at best it wont work at worst you could damage something

Did the listing explicitly say support for any Core chips?
