acceptable computer temperature

Is lower the better, or is there a certain temperature that your cpu/computer should stay at? My mobo monitor says my cpu is 20 degrees C with the liquid cooling setup i have, but it is a little loud. Will lowering the fan speed hurt anything?. any info would be much appreciated. thanks!

20C is great. The cooler the better. Most people like to stay in the 30-40C range for normal use. All processors are different, but you usually don't want to go above 50C even at load. It won't spontaneously combust at 51C, but it does kill it faster.
