access a sata hardisc without formatting it first!

hello all great members.
yesterday i got a "death blue screen" which result in formatting my hardisc (IDE).
i installed windows XP again on my primary hardisc (IDE - with NTFS-system). but i couldnt access my sata-hardisc. (the sata-hardisc has been formatting in NTFS once).
how can i recover my data on the sata-hardisc?
please help

did you install the sata drivers because it should show up if it has already been formatted if the sata drivers havent been installed you can do it while in windows
 
Have you checked Computer Management and made sure a drive letter is assigned to the partition? Or are you seeing the drive in my computer but just can't access it?
 
i can see the drive in my computer but cant access it, and it has a letter. i havent installed the drivers to my sata hardisc. right now i´m downloading SP2. i have read that SP2 include the drivers for sata hardiscs, is that correct?

Get Partition Magic and see whether your SATA HDD is detected or not. Then you can decide whether it is unformatted or having a driver problem.

I think that everyone who has a HDD problem should have Partition Magic...
