Got an old internal hard drive of my brothers to get files off of it and use as a slave. Have adapter but, not sure how to get to files. I go to Docs and Settings and then to Admin folder but, I can't open the folder. Says access is denied. I was told I could copy the files just like any other external drive. How do I get to those files, to view and copy?

To copy you just drag and drop that folder that says "access is denied" on to any folder on your computer/ wherever you want.
To remove the access denied message you need administrator rights: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421
