Nice, huh? I am trying to decide between the Acer AL2416Wd and the Samsung 204B to build into a custom pc enclosure that will be made of acrylic. This Acer seems to have almost the best of everything, although pricier than Samsung's 204B, which seems to be my best option for 1600x1200 screens.

The BeHardware article was the only in-depth review I could find. According to page 5, the screen is very fast for a PVA-type screen, but not as good as the fastest TN-type screens (204B). On the other hand, the TN-type screens suffer from poor viewing angles (page 6), largely seen in portrait mode. PVA panels seem to do a fair job in this area, but not as good as IPS screens.

The AL2416Wd is $735 shipped at zipzoomfly. The 204B is $389. I am thinking the prices will drop quite a bit during the summer.

Also, I am having trouble coming up with a mounting solution for my case. I want the screen to tilt and rotate, but I don't want it to extrude from the case when transporting, and I don't want openings to the interior of the case when the monitor is in use. If anyone thinks they could help me with a solution, that would be great.

Any advice on the displays or mounting solution would be great. Oh, and the main reason I was posting, if anyone can show detailed pictures of the back of either of these monitors, that would be helpful. I need to see if there is any flat surface at all bordering the backs of these monitors. I may want to mount the monitor by this instead of using the mounting holes.

Thanks.

And I found a back view of the Samsung here

It wouldn't let me insert as picture so theres a link to it.
