acer notebook freezes after start up

hello i got a acer one series notebook, when i turn it on the acer screen comes up and you can get onto bios from it and also i can press f8 so i can go onto the windows menu to get into safe mode, i have tried to put it into safe mode but the notebook keeps on freezing i can only go as far as the acer message when i turn the notebook on and that is it, has anyone got any suggestions?

Most likely a failing hard drive or hardware issue. Find out what brand hard drive is in th laptop and then download and burn the disk diagnostic software to cd and then boot to the cd and run the long extended test to test for errors.
 
Depending on how long you have had the Acer, and the cost of getting it repaired. It might be wiser to dump it,and buy another laptop.;)
