Hi there - I have an acer laptop, and I lost the recovery discs for it, and it crashed recently, and all went to crap. So, not having the discs, I need a new set.

So if anyone has a set of windows xp pro recorvery discs that they got with an acer pc or laptop, I would REALLY appreciate it if you would let me borrow them. I will pay £15 for the privelige, and post them back to you as soon as i've used them.

Note I just need the discs for this one, I already have my own registration key, so there is nothing illegal about this, I just need a disc to re-install windows.

Please, anyone who can help I really would appreciate it. Thanks!

Sarah.

U may look at e-bay.uk or e-bay.de For the future I recommend do a recovery discs for ur own instead of counting on the manufacture recovery.

it seems a bit much to buy a whole new liscence for XP when he already has one doesn't it?

Have you tried contacting acer or Microsoft, one of them would probably send you a new set of restore discs for a small fee

Lee :)

Since it is OEM, microsoft will tell you to contact Acer. I think you will find that restore disc are very cheap. I paid $16 plus $6 shipping for the restore discs for a HP computer three months ago.

get into contact woth acer http://www.acer.co.uk/acereuro/page6.do;jsessionid=F4EB630803FD6E69DFD1767992130799?UserCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=17&CountryISOCtxParam=UK&LanguageISOCtxParam=en&crc=2553782219

as long as you can prove you purchased a system from them they should be able to issue replacements for a small fee.
you already have the license which is proven by the windows oem sticker on the bottom.

did you get an option to burn recovery disks when you first got the computer?

EDIT - try pushing alt+F10 together at the start, as long as your partitions are still in place you should be able to launch the recovery from that
