Acer VS HP

I'm really not too keen on either brand personally. HP's probably the nicer brand of the two, but I've had quite a few quality issues to try and fix recently from them. But then again, coming from Costco, you have 90 days to return it if something goes wrong ;)

Either one, though the wireless N will be a nice thing to have (N = Nice range:P)

I hate how most of the screens they put in these today are 1366x768. It's better than 1280x800 but come on, what happened to 1440x900 screens? And you never find 16" 1920x1080 screens anymore..glad I got mine.

My mum bought an acer lappy several years back, it's absolutely horrible. The keyboard is flimsy and hard to type on, many of the keys don't work properly (e.g. the space bar only works if you aim for the middle), the hard drive makes seek noise that resembles that of a 15-years old HD, and I've never ever seen a half-decent looking laptop from Acer.
 
I will agree... Acer's are pretty crappy. I've not had much luck with my Acer LCD (on my 3rd) and my netbook has some fan issues. I'm tempted to return it if I can...
 
Never had any problems with acer desktops but, lcd's yes. Their lcd's and monitors are not the best.

HP is high quality and I recommend

Never had any problems with my hp desktop or monitor
