activation key invalid

I have had this notebook 9+ m. I had to recover it. and now I'm getting a message my vista product key is invalid. I can go online. (I'm here) But I can't access my files. My start key isn't even working!! What am I supposed to do now. Any suggestions?

I live in oregon and due to the weather (I think) I can't call microsoft to fix this problem. I can't do anything but go online. I can't go to my computer, go to my desktop, cont, alt del dosen't even work. Help please!!!!

I finaly got hold of microsoft, entered a new set of numbers, can access my files, but it still says it's not genuine.

After you call up Microsoft and get the activation key entered, you will need to reboot your computer for that message to go away.
 
retarting didn't work, but I rmemberd a blerb I read about validating it after entering code. I did that them restarted it and it worked.
