Ad-Watch Problem

I need some assistance, long story short, one day I started up my computer, ad-watch popped up displaying a program that wanted to start, I assumed it was bad, and blocked it. Then another program showed up, so I blocked this, I did this several times, then just clicked "automatic" it proceeded to block 400 some-odd programs. Now most of the links on my computer are dead and a lot of programs won't start. What should I do?

I don't have Ad-Watch but there has to be some method to cancel the blocking. From Ad-Aware Help it looks like the Filter list is the one you want:

Removing items from the "Filter" list
Open Ad-watch, click the "Filter" button then select the process you want to remove from the list by right clicking the appropriate entry in the open window.

Set the Automatic back to what it was.

To do a system restore follow the instructions below:

(1) First Click on the 'Start' button
(2) Then 'All Programs'
(3) Then 'Accessories'
(4) Then 'System Tools'
(5) Then 'System Restore'

Now follow the instructions to do a system restore. Or if you still not sure go to google etc type in System Restore in XP etc and you are more than likely find more information on the subject.

Wow...even system restore isn't working, I get the message that says it can't open it and needs to know what file created it, then I can search my computer, or the internet.

Before you do anything drastic, why not just uninstall Ad-Aware and reinstall? Assumed Control Panel / Add or Remove progs still accessible.

Add/Remove programs is inaccesible, as well as the security center optios, the icons don't respond. I'm actually planning on reformatting.

Problem solved, I made a script file to restore the .exe function (so I could open regedit) then I downloaded the file associations and ran them with the command prompt with regedit. Thanks for your time guys!
